Experienced, Dedicated Children's Choir Leadership

JANELLE CLAUDIO is an experienced member of the choral community, having sung with the Surrey Children’s Choir for 11 years, along with several other university and community choirs throughout the lower mainland. She is a graduate of the classical voice program at Vancouver Community College, and is expanding her activities as a loving, skillful children’s choir director and teacher. Along with directing the children’s choir, Janelle is a private instructor for vocal technique, theory, and sight-singing, and is dedicated to sparking a joy for music in every single one of her students, no matter their age or abilities. She is excited to be sharing her passion for entertaining and excellent musicianship with the Pacific Spirit Children’s Choir.

KIYOMI HORI has been singing in choir for as long as she can remember and is thrilled to be sharing her love of choral singing and music education with the Pacific Spirit Children’s Choir. She is a graduate of the classical voice program at Vancouver Community College, and further developed her skills as a choral conductor under Dr. Graeme Langager at the University of British Columbia. Along with singing in a number of ensembles, including Vancouver’s Phoenix Chamber Choir, Kiyomi is a busy piano and vocal instructor, lovingly dedicated to bringing the same joy and healing spirit of music that she believes in to people of all ages and walks of life.

Mentor and Advisor, Gerald Van Wyck, conducted the British Columbia Boys Choir for over 13 years, and is a popular children's choir clinician and adjudicator across Canada. He is Head of Choral Activities at Vancouver Community College, where he teaches Choir, Conducting, and Music History. He is also Music Director at West Vancouver United Church, and conductor of the Pacific Spirit Choir, West Vancouver's finest community choir.
